Madden coached the Oakland Raiders to a win over the Minnesota Vikings in Super Bowl XI. Following his coaching career, Madden took the broadcasting world by storm. He was a fixture in the broadcasting booth from 1979-2008.

Madden is known by younger generations for being the namesake to EA Sports Madden NFL Football video game series. He lent more than his name to the series, Madden spent years working with game developers to create a game that represented the game being played on the field.

A 2006 Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee, Madden called 300+ NFL games including eight Super Bowl games for CBS, ABC, Fox, and NBC.
